TYPE OF WORK DONE:

Main work of the department is to select and promote the player for various games and make arrangement for participation of teams at different levels and at various places.

Department has to select various teams at various level and to make necessary arrangements for tournament at various allotted places within Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya jurisdiction.

(1) UTD TEAM : Twenty two for various games

(2) DISTRICT TEAMS : From Sagar district after completion of

District Tournament (among 18 colleges)

(3) DIVISIONAL TEAM : Sagar University has following districts;-

(1) SAGAR

(2) DAMOH

(3) PANNA

(4) TIKAMGARH

(5) CHHATARPUR

(6) CHHINDWARA

After completion of Inter-District tournament at different allotted places, divisional team is selected. Selected team represent Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya Team in Inter-University tournament. In all selection Director nominee and expert of that game is appointed for proper watch at selection time.

(4) INTER UNIVERSITY TOURNAMENT

Divisional teams participate in Inter-University Tournament (West Zone) organized by A.I.U. New Delhi. Total TWENTY FOUR teams participate in various games.

Every year nearly 144 boys and 76 girls players participate in Inter-University tournament at various universities.

Department has to make arrangements for sending the teams for participation with Manager, Coach and Expert.

In all major events approximately one out of three player is selected. About six hundred players turn up for various games for selection.

B.P.Ed. Course was run by this department in the session 1998-99 and 1999-2000. Total number of students admitted were 60 each year.B.P.Ed. course was run with the help of university teachers from various departments and ad-hoc coaches attached with the department.
